Charlotte, Dec 3, 1602. 22-tf MA4 HINi: HR CRUSHING, GRINDING, AND PULVERIZING, recently patented in th s country and Europe. COCHRAN'S PLENKOSPH KhIC A L QUARTZ CRUSHING AND PULVERIZING MA CHINKS are now in daily operstion for the inspects n of the public, and will be submitted to any rea onabls practical tests proposed by parties interested. These machines, by the r simplicity ot ronstrurtiun, their durability, the undoubted principles upon which they operate, their efective operation and result, .rs justly entitled to the considerstion of sll parties en gaged in grinding, crushing, and PULVERIZING QUARTZ, iron or. , zinc, copper, and lead or-;, and all other mineral subs snces. It is the peculiar feature of the economy of these ma chines that they are found capable ot crushing and pul verizing into the finest powder, any amount of Quarts or other earthy matter, in prop rtion to the amount of w. ight or power appi ed. 'fjtt earthy matter is orom pletely ground and pulverized that the gold may be easi ly separated, and subjected to any process of amalgama tion that may be necessary. The machines work and deliver, wet or dry, as may be required, anc run with little friction, (being almost without machinery,) requiring no lubricating ; tb- prin ciple upon which they operate precludes the possibility of their being put out of order ; nor do they beat any material while being pulverized. They are at once ap plicable for all purposes of grinding and pulverizing, from those required by the DRUGGIST to those of the most extensive operations in CALIFORNIA and AUS TRALIA. The machines are from 2 to 12 fee in diameter, with balls or spheres from 3 inches to 5 feet in diameter, each maebipe weighing fiom 25Q lbs, to 20 tons earth, and are so d with the right to use them at from $100 to $5,000 each. They can be worked by steam, water, horse, or man ual power, according to their size ; snd by changing the velocity and proportioning the weight on the tcp of the balls, any amount ot power may be used, from that of a single man, or horse, vpwsrd.
