good. All these help, and the

higher ground. Everything
cannot be done in a day, a
month, or a single year, but
hope is returning and dread is
vanishing.

tags for their automobiles A
sort of indignation meeting was
held and resolutions were pass
ed. About 160 years ago Meck
lenburgers held a protest meet
ing and passed the "Meckklen
burg Declaration of Independ
ence" and some of that same
spirit seems to have trickled
down through the generations.
But this latter demonstration
had not the same justification
as the former. Auto owners
were warned there would bo no
days of grace. Even if there
had been fully ten days, on the
11th day half of the delin
quents, no doubt, would have
been without the necessary li
cense plate. Hence it is doubt
ed that an extension of time
would have helped much.
