Inscoe has moved his tamily to Henderson, where be will tabe a position in one of 'the cotton mills of that place. ' Is is up to our people now 10 start up some other enterprise that will help 10 build up the. town. Don't everybody speak at once.' There was a game of ball played here Monday betwesn the cotton mill boys and the town boys, which resulted in a score of 8 to 10 in favor of the mill boys. Don't forget to attend to your advertising. If you haven't one in this department don't wait any long er if you bave to run ver someone else to fijet yours in. Miss Elizabeth Brings, of Ral eigh, was in town Sunday in the in terest of the Sunbeam Society of the Baptist church, betore whch she de livered qbite an interesting and in structive talk. Since the work has been com pleted on the Baptist church it pre sents a very pleasing and - inviting appearance. This is one thing Franklinton can boast of having pretty churches. Mrs. Rebecca handling an aged lady who lived about five milesvwest of town died at her home on Satnr day morning and was buried in the tamily burying; ground on Sunday. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. N. E. Coletraine. Gentlemen of Franklinton now is the time for you to put forth your efforts in cleaning and beautifying your town, as well as it ia, time for you to get a hustle on yourself and keep business good. Remember that "where there is a will, there is also a way." Mr. Will Duke died at the home of his father near town on Wednes- day of last week. - Having suffered for some time his death was not un expec ed. His remains were enterred at Perry's church on Thursday last, the services being conducted in the church by Revs. T. B. Justice and . N. E. Coletraine. Rev. J. H. Shore, of Greenville, was present' and preached the anni versary sermon to the Odd Fellows here oh Sunday morning.- While it is known that Rev. Mr. Shore is ah able and forceful speaker, he did him self great honor on this occasion. The sermon was a fine one. One that would have done anyone good to heed, whether he be an Odd Fel low or not. The closing of the Katesville school on last Friday was enjoyed by quite a nice crowd notwithstanding the down pour of rain.
