News Items.
The anniversary of the land sale and
the laying off of new Bunn was fittingly
observed on last Tuesday and the occasion
was a very enjoyable one. A splendid
barbecue was served and several
speeches were made. Quite a large
crowd of peeple from the surrounding
country were present and the day was
one of much pleasure for all. This has
come to be an annual affair, made possible
by the generosity of Mr. Buell, of
the Montgomery ^umberCompany, and
Mr. Hufflnes, of the North %tate I}evel
opment Company. The relationship existing
between this community and
these two corporations is a .very cordial
one and has had much to do in the up
building: and improvement of the place.
Last Friday was Betterment Day?
the anniversary of the organization oi
the Bunn Woman's Betterment Association.
The afternoon program consisted
of some exercises by the school children.
Recitations, songs and other music
made the afternoon an enjoyable
one. Prizes were awarded to Mamie
Timberlake for a paper on "Care of the
Teeth," and to Joe Harris for one on
"The Boy Scouts' Trip to Raleigh."
The names of the pupils in each room
standing highest in the contest for the
three medals offered by the loeal Junior
Order were read, and a review of the
work done during the past two month?
was given for the benefit of the parents
present. The night meeting was in the
nature of a testimony meeting and several
short talks were made by different
citizens on behalf of the work done by
the Association in the bettering of the
sehool and the community during the
past year. Mlas Edith Royster, of Raleigh,
was present and made-an excellent
talk on the work possible to be dene
through the efforts of a lire association

- ^fer talk abounded in goodfcommonsense
advice, very helpful to all who
heard it Mies Mary Arrington, primary
supervisor of Franklin county,
told of the work she is undertaking to
do in the schools of this county,, and
her direct, straightforward appeal won

The Wonderful Oxyoline.
The N?el-Arms trong Co.. *i Akron,
Ohio, hu Installed one of its calibrated
. ozone generators in the home of Dr. S.
P. Burt, on Church street. The prod'
uct ef this machine is a valuab'e lifegiving
'Oxyoline," and will, if tried,
prove of reet benefit to the people of
FrankttA and adjoining counties.
The device for creating tnis new compound
consists of an electrical ozonize r,
the electrons of which give off a beautiful
violet glow, completely eliminating
the eperk generated by the earlier type*
of ozone machines. The air is drivei
by an electric fan through the electrii
discharge, where it is converted int<
ozone, which is passed through crescen
shaped tubes partially Ailed with vols
tile oils Here the all Important chemi
cal change takes place and the new per
oxide compound thus formed paaset
through flexible tubes and is inhaled, b\
patients by means of close-fitting fac<
masks **.- ^.
In this new peroxide Compound nom
of the oxidizing, antiseptic or blood
building powers of the ozone are lost:
in fact, these powers are increased to a
marked degree, which fact has been
fully verified in clinical practice and
uoon germ cultures. The new gas thus
formed does not contain ozone in ita
free state. The identity of the ozoAe
is lost as to its pungency and odor. The
volatile oila used are of the pinus group,
such as contain pinene, eymene, eucalyptol
and campnene, which constitute
an exceptionally agreeable and effective
inhalent ?
This "Oxyoline" has proven of great
value in the treatment of the following
diseases: Asthma, Catarrh, Tuberculosis,
Hay Fever, Insomnia. Bronchitis,
Anemia, and, especially, good for headaches
of any description. If you ate
troubled with any of the above diseasee
we especially insist that you give this
new and wonderful invention a trial.
It will surely benefit you
Yours very truly,
Nebl-Armstrong Co.
