The N?el-Arms trong Co.. *i Akron, Ohio, hu Installed one of its calibrated . ozone generators in the home of Dr. S. P. Burt, on Church street. The prod' uct ef this machine is a valuab'e lifegiving 'Oxyoline," and will, if tried, prove of reet benefit to the people of FrankttA and adjoining counties. The device for creating tnis new compound consists of an electrical ozonize r, the electrons of which give off a beautiful violet glow, completely eliminating the eperk generated by the earlier type* of ozone machines. The air is drivei by an electric fan through the electrii discharge, where it is converted int< ozone, which is passed through crescen shaped tubes partially Ailed with vols tile oils Here the all Important chemi cal change takes place and the new per oxide compound thus formed paaset through flexible tubes and is inhaled, b\ patients by means of close-fitting fac< masks **.- ^. In this new peroxide Compound nom of the oxidizing, antiseptic or blood building powers of the ozone are lost: in fact, these powers are increased to a marked degree, which fact has been fully verified in clinical practice and uoon germ cultures. The new gas thus formed does not contain ozone in ita free state. The identity of the ozoAe is lost as to its pungency and odor. The volatile oila used are of the pinus group, such as contain pinene, eymene, eucalyptol and campnene, which constitute an exceptionally agreeable and effective inhalent ?
