We believe it to be the proper functiboof a bink that 'it should Mek
to be conservative along all lines which'iegiHmately belong to banking.
We believe that the success of the Farraerk Bank will be greater as
it tends to strengthea the position of the farmerk and business men of
Franklin county, upoa whom the advancement ofN^his community must
evidently depend.
We will not be identified with what is known as promotion schemes
and we will not deviate from the principles of honesty whjch should dom
inate all banking institutions.
We believe that the ideal banker is the one who is on the Wme terms
of close and personal intimacy with his customers in relation, to^heir fin
ancial affairs, as is the physician in relation to one's personal physical
condition, or the lawyer to one's legal matters. We will endeavoi\to en
c oarage this idea with our depositors and all those with whom vfe are
doing business. Personal relationship means a great deal to Us ai^
great deal to you, and you must take advantage of our desire and
operate with us. ?
Our chief object is to make the Farmers National exactly the kind of
KanU that Franklin county should have. We realize that your money on
deposit with us makes us <y our trustee, not only legally but morally, and
we safeguard bothjthe moral and legal side of banking.
Institution's, like men, are great because of their character, and
character in an institution is a growth, a building towards an ideal. We
ahak neyer place our trusrt in those amw and untried ideas in banking,
which come up from time to time and Result disastrously.
We believe that in upbuilding you and your enterprises we are
building the bank, and we are willing and anxious to keep pace
legitimate business only .
m
We want you to feel that your deposits with us are absolutely sate and
we want you to know that the supervision of the U. S. Government, a
large capital, and the wealth and the rugged honesty of the men behind
this bank are the dominant forces that control all of our affairs.'
If this bank stands for anything/itjis for conservatism which is the
same today, and the same tomorrow ? avoiding speculations and promo
tions in whatever form they come, although they may be described S5~
public enterprises and public prrfection3._ Our daily life and moral c ode
will be on a high plane. We Jiave but one standard and that is absolute
fidelity to our depositors and/to our customers.
We wish to impress on your mind the absolute stability, from ev
ery standpoint, of t h/ Farmers National, an understanding which will
place you on closer ajid more intimate relations with this bank.
While we propose to make every effort possible to afford such com
plete and up-to-date facilities that this bank will meet all the require
ments of the general public, it will really be The Farmers Bank of Frank
lin county, and we ask the farmers to help us build up the bank that we
may rende$/the farmers a long needed service.
W?r extend the same courtesy to the new depositors as to the old
depositors, to the individual whether man or woman, merchant or man
ufacturer, whether small or large sum. .
/ We have stated our principal to you clearly, in a way we think you
{Will appreciate and we hope it will meet your approval.
Our directors are old rugged farmers and business men, who do not

I known and stand out so clearly that you may see and know as you
