Registration of German Alien Females In pursuance of authority of the Proclamation of the President of the United States dated April 19, 191S. no tice Is hereby given that 1. All natives, citizens, denizens, or subjects of the German Empire or of the Imperial German Government, being females of the age of 14 years and upwards, who are within the Uni ted States and not actually naturalized as American CltfZeiia "are required to register as German Alien Females. ). This registration shall extend and apply to all land and water, con tinental or Insular In any way within the Jurisdiction of the United States. 6. A german Alien female required to register who falls to complete her registration within the time fixed therefore or who violates or attempts to violate or of whom there is reason able ground to believe that she Is about to violate any regulation duly i promulgated bj? United States or these regulations, in addition to all other penalties prescri bed by law, is liable to restraint, im prisonment. and detention for the du ration of the war. or to give security, or to removal and departure from the United States In the manner prescrib-* ed by sections 4067. 4069 and 4070 of the United States Revised Statutes, and to all other penalties prescribed in the several proclamations of the President of the United States and in the regulations duly promulgated by or under the authority of the Presi dent. 6. A German alien female required to register who shall, after the date fixed for the Issuance to her of a reg istration card, be found within the limits of the United States, its Terri tories. or possessions, without L. ving her registration card on her person Is liable to the aforesaid penalties. TIME FOR REGISTRATION The Attorney General of the United States has fixed the time for registra tion of German alien females as June 17 and continuing each day thereaf ter. excluding Sunday, the 23rd. up to and including June 26. 1918. PLACER OF REGISTRATION 1. in cuies^>f ?000 or more in habitants regiftration will be made before the chief of police or such as he may have designated as Assistant Registrars. 2. In non-urban areas or in sub urban districts not within the Jurisdic tion of the Chief of Police of a city of 5,000 or more Inhabitants, regltration must bq made before ttio master. METHOD OF REGISTRATION. 1. Registration shall be made by affidavit of the alien female required to register, to be executed In tripli cate and accompanied by four un mounted photograph of the registrant, not larger than 3x3 Inches in Bize. on thin paper, with a light background The photograph shall be of the shoul ders and full face, without hat or oth er head covering. Each photograph must be signed by the registrant across the face thereof so as not to obscure the features, If the registrant Is able to write. 2. Each alien female required to be registered shall be required to reg ister her finger prints. Registrants are required to again pesent themselve before the registra tion officer after ten, but before fifteen days from the last day fixed for reg istration, to obtain a registration card upon which she must sign her name or make her mark, and place her left thumb print in the presence of the registration officer. Information and instructions to reg istrant^ will be given by the chiefs of police or postmasters upon applica tion. BIG DANCE.
