It is marvelous to smoothen rough, red hand9. In Memorlan. On Thursday morning February the twenty-seventh, long ere the dawn had , stained the eastern sky with its crim son glory the angel of death entered the home of Mr. G. Cade Parrish and bore away his spirit. The short period of illness had not prepared the loving hearts of those who watched longingly by his bed side for the sudden departure. It was a shock to the entire community. I AH those who came in contact with I fir. Parrish became aware of the worth and purity of bis character. Ev en in this age of turmoil and haste we always found him calm keeping the faith and trusting in th< guidance of the Father, for iTKlegd he was a devout follower of the Cross. When he was only fifteen years of age he took his stand for Christ. Join ing the church at Mt. Zion. In this 'church he became, not a passive, but an active member, being at one time | superintendent of the Sunday School, anfl at all times doing his best for the ^Master. In 1912 he was married to Miss Del phia Johnson of this county. ? Of late he moved his membership to Sandy Creek continuing his work In and for the church there, until he mo ved to Louisburg. He was in every way a faithful hus band and a loving father. The way that he gained access into the hearts 1 of his fellowmen shows that he lived not for himself, but for others. The thought, that the world was made better by his stay here should soothe the aching hearts as would the Balm of Gilead for although his life was quiet and unobusive, it was fruit ful, giving many signs of his love for the Master. At his home in Louisburg a select chapter was read from the bible by Rev. Mr. Smith and a prayer was of fered by Mr. Collins, after which his body was taken to Sandy Creek and tenderly laid away in the presence of j a great number of friends and rela-1 ttves. The burial services were conducted 1 by Rev. T. D. Collins of Louisburg, and Rev. J. H. Harper. In the ser vices the words spoken showed clear ly the estimation of the noble and manly character of the deceased. Mr. Parrish was the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Parrish. He leaves a wife and three small children besides his immediate family, and a host of friends. * . "Weep not, for today is great joy in Heaven for a soul goes back to God."
