Yesterday In criminal court the cane
of Anna Besgovlch, charged with felo
nloUR assault and battery on Mary
Mencllovlch, wag called for trial. Both
parties lire In Indtanola.
Mrs. Besgovlch In an American
born woman, of Irish extraction, but
married to a Serbian. Mary la a Bo
hemian. and her husband a Dalmatian.
Witnesses for the commonwealth were
Polish, American and Negro persons,
while the defendant's witnesses were
Hungarians, Magyars, Poles and Croa
tans. The district attorney was an
American of German extraction, while
the defendant's lawyer and the judge
Were Jews. They found Mrs. Besgo
vlch guilty of aggravated assault and
battery. She will be sentenced later.

Long Staple cotton of the 1922 crop
and Juit as soon as the accounting
department can make up the state
ments a final settlement (or this cot
ton will be made with every member
who delivered Long staple cotton last
season. Approximately '0,000 bales of
Long staple was handled and much
of It was of low grade staple making
the sale of this grade very alow. Fi
nal settlement was made on abort
staple cotton of the 18J2 crop soma
time ago.
