Having served you in the capacity of Chairman of the Board
of Education since the death of one of the beat friends the chil
dren of Tranklfn has eiver had? Oapt. Arch Perry in February,
1923, 1 have seen the importance of the great educational work
In Franklin County more urgently than ever before, and it has
awakened an interest on my part that causes me to ask the sup
port of all the voters in Franklin County that I may do what I
can for the children who will be the men and women of tomor
row. It will be my pleasure to see that every dollar spent will
produce, as far as is humanly possible, one hundred cents worth
of results. I w*Q appreciate your vote and your influenoe in the

EJi IH)RSES COOPERATIVE MARK.
ETINQ
Rallgo. May 31. ? The American Man
ufacturera Association In sesalon at
Atlantic City, May 28, took a strong
stand In favor of the cooperative
marketing of cotton. The association
which Is composed of cotton manu
facturers of the entire country from
New England to Texas adopted resolu
tions to the effect that cooperative
marketing would tend to secure for
both the manufacturers and the pro
ducers a fair price for cotton. The
resolutions follows:
Whereas the old method of mark
eting cotton has permitted an undue
pressure on the market at th ) begin
ning of the season and has encourag
ed speculation at various stages later
In the season and,
WHEREAS such conditions temd
toward violent fluctuations In prices
of the staple with attendant hesita
tion and uncertainty In the dry goods
market and,
WHEREAS these evils both In the
cotton maiket and the cotton goods
market can only be corrected by an
orderly and uniform dlBtrlbut-m of
the cotton crop.
THEREFORE be It resolved that
the cooperative handling and mark
eting of cotton by its producers can
best bring about these resul's,
RESOLVED further that the Amerl
can Cotton Manufacturers Associa
tion In convention assembled this 28th
day of May. 1924 endorses the coopera
tive Idea of marketing as above out
lined to the end that an adequate and
uniform supply of cotton may be se
cured for the manufacturers and at
as high a price for the producer as
the natural and unrestricted law of
supply and demand will permit."
