CEDAK BOCK NEWS
As the Cedar Rock people have via
ited other parts of the county and
state, during the summer, they ret
urn home with thankful heart* for the
fairly good crops which we hare.
Our young people (no better can be
found) have greatly enjoyed the sum
mer. None have been seriously sick,
and all have been happy working some
and visiting and receiving visitors.
The revival meeting at Cedar Rock
this summer was unusually good. Pas
tor J. R. Everett was very ably assisted
by Rev. E. D. Poe of Weldon.
Miss Wilson, the County Home Dem
onstration Agent, assisted by very
competent chaperones. conducted a
very pleasant and profitable encamp
ment for the club girls at Cedar Rock
week before last. Here'B extending
them a most hearty Inrltatlon to come
again.
Vacation passes swiftly by. and It
will soon be time for school to begin.
The Cedar Rock people are looking
forward to having the best session
ever, as the school is now a fully ac
credited high school. On May 29. Dr.
Highsmlth, High School Inspector,
wrote Principal T. H. Sledge, congra
tulating him upon the achievement of
having met the requirements for hav
ing the Cedar Rock School on the ac
credited list. Again, in the News and
Observer of July 27. the people read
with interest the list of new accredi
ted high schools. Cedar Rock being on
the list of new accredited high schools.
Mr. Sledg* with the cooperation of the
people, has within three years, raised
the standard of the school from a
three-teacher school to a fully accred
ited s-chool employing seven teachers.
