The State borrowed $6,000,000 tor

The State is the first in the South to
take such action.
The State speed limits were increas
ed last Friday to 35 miles on the open
highways, 20 in resideptial districts
and 10 to 12 miles in congested dis
tricts. This is according to the act

The Corporation Commission is fac
ing a problem that may give some
tronble. A negro purchased a ticket
to ride on a bus and was refused the
privllege.He insisted and the driver
allow him to and the Commission,
which has supervision over busses,
probably will have to settle the case.
If the busses are common carriers,
and there seems little reason to regard
them otherwise, the negroes are en
tirely within their rights In requesting
transportation and It may be that the
bus companies will have to make pro
