July I J.?The CITIZENS' MILITARY TRAINING CAMP at Fort Bragg la now^aall un der ?-ay and the young men from the eight south-eastern gtatea art brown ing up ilk* veteran*. The oubsil-doors life is evidently to the liking of the young men. At 6:3V every morning, the candi dates hear the first strains of the bu gle and in fifteen minutes all are dressed and assembled ' for roll call. They are given a quarter of an hour physical drill followed by breakfast which is waiting them in the "mess tent." The call for mess is one time when no difficulty is experienced in securing a prompt and full attendance. The camp is then "policed" or 'clean id-up and drill starts promptly at 7:30, During thepast week the Basic can didates have been given a coarse in citisenship and first aid, dimoonted drill, Instruction in how to handle a rifle, preparatory to actual firing on the target range, and moviea Uiustrat iug these various subjects. The Red Course men have been instructed in the same subjects excepting for the rifle. In addition they have been at pistol target practice, mounted Jnstruc tion learning draft and equitation, and nomenclature of the French 76a which they will fire on the range later In the course. The White, or third year, students had advanced instruction in equitation and mounted drill, topo graphy and orientation teaching them bew to read maps, and communica tions and reconnafssanoe. In all drills they act In the capacity of corporals. The Bine, or senior, trainees have covered the same subjects as the Whitee bat of an advanced nature and in addition have had field artillery gunnery so that they will be qualified to conduct the firing of the 75s when they go on the range. At drills they act aa sergeants. At noon all drill has been completed for the Basics and Reds, the Whites Ifinlsh at 2:30 and the Blue at 3:30 P JL When drills are over, the men are engaged in various types of ath letics.
