A very successful all day service
was held at Mt. Zlon church "Sbnday.
There was Sunday school at the re
gular time after which Hon. Edward
Malone, of Louisburg, made a very
luterestlng talkou the work of the
Sunday school. At noon a very tempt
tng picnic lunch was spread on the
grounds. In the afternoon the child
ren of the Sunday school from the
beginners through the senior depart,
ments presented a chlldrens day pro
gram. Much Interest was manifest,
ed in the program by the large crowd
that attended. <

Mr. Ballard Egerton, of Greensboro,
visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.
D., Egerton the past week end.

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Gupton were In
Spring Hope for a short while Sun
day afternoon.
The young people of the Tar River
Association will hold a Rally Day at
Mt. Zlon ohurch next Sunday. An
allday program with picnic lunch is
planned. A large delegation from the
entire association is expected. Rev.

pointment in the afternoon.
Circle No. 1 of the Womans Mis.
sionary Society of Mt. Zion church
met at Gold Sand Wednesday after
noon for Its regular monthly meeting.
Mrs. D. 0. Murphy had charge of the
program. A good number of the mem
bers were present and a good meeting
was held.
Mesdames J. L. Foster and Billy
Cooper left Sunday to spend a few
days in Red Oak with relatives.

Daphine Wheeler Dead
Little Daphine Wheeler was burled
at New Hope last Saturday afternoon..
She was taken sick about three weeks
ago with the mumps, froin mumps to
measles and measles to pneumonia
and was taken to Rex hospital last
Friday a week ago and lived one week
from the day she was taken there.
Daphine was loved by all who knew
her..- SJie had a winning way and
was very cheerful. We all will miss
her but taking the bud so young and
tender there must be a promising
flower In the future. We all know
that Daphine has bloomed in heaven
a darling angel of happiness forever.
She leaves one sister. May Fern,

her paernts. We are all In hopes
that some day we will meet her be.
