HONORS LITTLE GIRL
The following letter from Mr.
R. E Miller, former Supervisor of
Edward Rest High School, with
reference to the One record of his
litlle daughter, will be read with
much in"?rest by people of Frank
lin County:
"My little fiTe year old daugh
ter, Vivian Blanche, while at
tending kindergarten at Lincoln
Demonstration School at Colum
bia University. New Tork. this
summer, was chosen by the editor
of The March of Time' news reel
to appear in the August release of
March of Time. The subject of
the picture pertains to highway
safety. The part my little daugh
ter appears in has :o do with the
teaching of small children the
importance of learning traffic
signals and the duties of traffic
policemen. She along with other
children play with toy traffic
policemen in a minature civy. She
appears only for a short time but
the pictures of her are very plain
"Ton can imagine we were quite
thrilled a few days ago. when we
went to Radio City Music Hall, to
see our daughter's picture flashed
before us on the world's largest
screen.
"We have attended Columbia
CniTersity Summer Session again
this summer, where I had the hon
or of being President of the North
Carolina State Club there, for this
year. We shall return to Beaufor.
the latter part, of this week.''

"I don't see how I can do it." 1
said King Carl as he look^-d upon -

bandages and braced by splints.
"Seems risky business to m*. to :
try and get into shape for only a
couple of games, now. I'm going ?
home soon as the doctor will let
me.** i
Habbell recovered from the ef- "
fects of '.tie general anesthetic
rapidly during the day although
his arm pained him at intervals.
He said Mrs. Hubbell and his
three-year-old son had already de
parted from New York for the
Hubbell farm near Meeker. Okla.
Dr. J. Spencer Speed, orthope
dist who remored a bone chip
from his left elbow, has told him
it would be :?o weeks before the
splints would be taken from his
arm.
