Rum may be bought without the presentation of a ration cou pon. * For the past two months two coupons, valued at a pint each, liave been valid each month. According to a letter -sent by V, "Williamson to all county ABC x boards: "Coupons Nos. 25 and 26 will be valid at any time dur ing the month of June, 1944, for one quart, or two pints, or one fifth, or two-tenths only of do mestic whiskey or Scotch. "Coupons Nos. 27 and 28 will be valid at any time during the month of June, 1944, for one quart, or two pints, or one-fifth, or two-tenths of all brandy, both Imported and domestic or import ed gin, or all cordials. "Coupons Ns. 27 and 28 will be valid for one-fifth of Rocking Chair in lieu of the above items. In other words. Coupon Nos. 25, 26, 27, and 28 will be valid at any time during the month of June for two fifths of Rocking Chair at the option ot the hold Williamson's letter pointed out * that "due to the arrangement of the coupons in the pSftnit book, it will be necessary for you to tonor Nos. 25 and 26 before you can honor Nos. 27 and 28, In or der to avoid the use of loose cou pons, which under no circumstan ces will be permitted." ITINERANT CfiANGES WMC Service changes are being made in the United States Employment Service ? War Manpower Com mission ? itinerant program in the Raleigh Local Office area, states L. J. Craven, Manager, in volving Wake and Franklin Coun ties. Beginning Tuesday, June 6, 1944, the points formerly served on that day; namely. Wake For est in the morning and Wendell in the afternoon, will be served on the first and t'urd Tuesday, Id lieu of weekly. An additional change is also taking place in re versing the order of service at these points, formerly Wake For est has been served in the morn ing and Wendell in thfe afternoon. Alter June 6, 1944. Wendell will be served in the morning at 10:00 a. m. and Wake Forest In the af ternoon at 1:00 p. m. on the first and third Tuesday. In Franklin County, effective Wednesday, June 7. 1&44, service Is being' changed from weekly to the first and third Wednesday. Also the order of service is re versed at these two points, where we formerly served frankllnton in the morning and Loulsburg in the afternoon. After Wednesday, June 7, 1944, our refrt-eeentative will be in Louisburg at 10:00 a. m. and Franklinton at 2:00 p. m., on the first and third ^Wednesday. This change has became neces sary for recruiting purposes in the War Manpower Commission's efforts to recruit workers for the ?war effort. On Thursday's route, we have been formacly serving Fuquay Springs at 11:15 a. i*. and Apex at 1:15 p. m. Activity at these two points have developed into agricultural service only. This type of service is being furnished by the State Agricultural Exten sion Service, through the County Agent's Office. Therefore, until the tobacco industry, regarding warehousing and redTying and stemming activity begins, service at these two points will be dis continued until approximately mtd-Angust- Any service needed at these points will be furnished by the Raleigh Local' Office upon request made to this office. Ask your forester or oeunty agent for aid In marketing and for tips on selective Umber cutting. 1 SPENCER A7SCUE COMMITS SUICIDE State Hospital Night Supervisor Last Was Seen Late Tuesday Night The body of Spencer ISacon Ayscue, 23, night supervisor at the State Hospital here, was found' Friday in a "decomposed condition" in a third-floor stor age room in the main building. The body was found by hospital employes when efforts to trace a "strange odor" led to the storage room. Ayscue was scheduled to begin his vacation on Wednesday morn ing of this week, and he had not been seen since Tuesday night at 10. Coroner Roy M. Banks, call ed to the hospital yesterday af ternoon at 2 when the body was found, said that Ayscue probably had been dead since Tuesday night. Coroner Rues Suicide Coroner Banks reported that there was no evidence of "out side violence," and described the death as "a clear case of suicide by drugs." Ayscue, as night su pervisor, had access to all the drugs at the hospital, hospital of ficials said, and it is believed that he locked himself in the tiny storage room and took a poison ous drug. There were no wounds of any kind on his body. Coro ner Banks said. Ayscue had barricaded the door of the storage room by propping a chair against it and had left the window screen fas tened, so that hospital officials and workers had to force their way into the room. Ayscue was found sitting in a chair with his shoes off and bis feet on a desk in front of him. He had stripped himself from the waist up, Banks reported. Found on the desk. Banks re ported, was a note addressed to K. P. Pierce, business manager of the hospital, requesting that Pierce remove the money from Ayscue's pockets, put it with the money Ayscue had in the creBlt union, and turn it all over to Ayscue's wife, Mrs. Lillian Den ton Ayscue, formerly of Lonia oUrg. Mrs. Ayscue has made her home at the State Hospital since her husband came there as night supervisor four years ago. Funeral Services Saturday Surviving are his wife; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry C. Ayscue of Louisburg, Route 1; *nree brothers, Henry Ayscue, H. C. Ayscue, Jr., and Jack Ayscue, Jill of Louisburg, Route 1 ; and three sisters, Mrs. Robert Frazier, Mrs. Forest Portress, and Virgin ia Ayscue. all of Louisburg. Funeral services were conduct ad from the New Hope Christian Church on the Wake Forest-Bunn Road Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock by the Rev. S. E. Madren, pastor. Burial was in the Church Cemetery. The funeral cortege left Mitch ell Funeral Home here at 12:45 o'clock. Pallbearers: N. H. Burgess, C. L. Slaughter, M. C. Arnold, A. W. Strickland, C. W. Pearce, and R B. Fish. ? Owen Doyle was given a jury trial for unlawful possession of | whiskey' and sale of whiskey, mo-; lion of non suit allowed and de fendant discharged. Vernon Hale was found not guilty of unlawful possession of whiskey and transporting. Joe Hale was found guilty of i unlawful possession of whiskey and given 60 days on roads, sus pended upon payment of 150 One and costs. Billy Duke plead guilty to speeding and was fined $10 and costs. A nolle pros was taken in the case of larceny against James T. Purkerson. John Raymond Driver plead guilty to speeding and was fined $10 and costs.
