Louisburg Book Clubs Meet Mrs. Gordon Zealand was hos tess to the O'Henry Book Club Tuesday afternoon at her home f on John Street. Mrs. Dick Yarborough was In charge of the program for the afternoon and gave a most Interesting and Informative talk on Flgl? once the home of can nibals and Jave? the world's richest tropical Island. She told of the people," traditions, beauty, odd facts, the Influence of the Western World and their problems with Integration. Following the program, mem bers were served a delicious ham supper plate with lemon pie, coffee and nuts at a beau tifully appointed table. Mrs. Wilbur Jolly was hostess to the Edwin Fuller Book Club Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. James King. Continuing their study of "Great Religions of the World," Mrs. J. W. Mann read a paper of Jaintsm written by Mrs. A. B. Inscoe. Current topics on India and Alaska were given by Mrs. Anne W. DavjLes. At the conclusion of the pro gram the hostess, assisted by Mrs. King, served a delicious supper plate and dessert to eight members. Mrs. Pattie Justice enter tained the Tuesday Afternoon Book Club with the following members present: Mesdames K. S. Isley, Doyle Medders, Woodrow Warren, Willis Nash, V. E. Duncan, Walter McDon ald, L. J, Peoples, C. J. Per ry and M. S. Clifton. Upon arrival, the hostess served delicious refreshments of pie and coffee. Mrs. Isley presided over a short business meeting and then presented an interesting pro gram on "Modern Medicine." Teenage Chat This Is the schedule for the Franklin County tournaments for the remainder of the week. Thursday night Gold Sand boys play the winner of the Wednes day night Edward Best vs Youngsvllle game at 8:30. Ed ward Best girls play Gold Sand girls Thursday night at 7:00. Friday night the championship girls' game will be played at 8:30. Louisburg boys play fcunn Friday night at 7:00. Saturday night the champion ship game for the boys will be played at 8:30, and the trophies will be presented. Word has it that Youngsville High School has some new rules that some of them don't par ticularly like. How about it? It seems that a few students from Youngsvllle High School are having to stay after school for a few days. They are R. H., J. S., D. A., C. M., J. B., W. A., M. H., B. K., P. Y. , J. H., B. E., B. H. , and J. K. We hope every thing will be alright for these "good-time" students. What do you all think of the Beatles? They seem to he the subject of every conservktion. Now there are even1 Beatle wigs which are constantly re minding one of them. Some *boys are even letting their hair grow out like theirs. I guess now the girls will have to start getting their hair cut by a bar ber and the boys by a beauty operator. At the tournament this week there have been a couple of Beatle wigs. There are a few conventions and rallies of clubs coming up in March which may be of in terest to the members. The Franklin County Best Club will be having its convention March 13 at Edward Best High School. On March 14, there will be the Bi-County F.H.A. Rally at Nashville High School. The F.B.L.A. State Convention will be held April 3-4 in Winston Salem. The thought for the day is: "'Always laugh when you can, it is cheap medicine."? Hall Reviews Scouting At Banquet Youngsvllle?The annual Cub Scout Blue and Gold Banquet was held Monday night at the school cafeteria opening with the National Anthem and Invo cation led by Rev. Milton Wild er, pastor of the Christian Church. Mr. W. R. Evans, Cub Master, was Toast Mas ter for the^venlng. The Scout executive of the Saponl Dis trict led the group in singing.
