JOE WOOD Joe Wood, 84, of Rt. 1, Cas talla, died Sunday. Funeral services were conducted Mon day at 2 p.m. at the Red Bud Baptist Church by the Rev. W. P. Childers and the Rev. Robert Ricks, Boone. Burial followed in the family cemetery at the home. He was a retired farm er and a member of the Red Bud Baptist Church. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Mamie Woodard and Miss Sallle Wood, both of Rt. 1, Castalia. MRS. BIRDIE GRIFFIN Mrs. Birdie Baker Griffin, 85, died Saturday in a Raleigh hospital. Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. Mon day at the Pine Ridge Baptist Church by Dr. Randall Lolly. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Surviving are three son s, K. P. Griffin of Rochester, N. Y., E. Taylor and Joe B. Griffin, both of Rocky Mount; one daughter, Mrs. E. C. Moody of Loulsburg; two 'sisters, Mrs. J. J. Richardson of Wilmington and Mrs. H. C. Barbee of Dur ham; 10 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. _ ? ?
