Homecoming was held at the Duke Memorial Baptist Church Sunday and we were delighted to have descendants of the late Rev. George Duke attend. The church was named > for Rev. Duke. Descendants attending were Mrs. Walter Strange, a daugh ter; and grandchildren, Mrs. Josephine S. Southall and Mrs. Everett Phelps and also Mrs.. Cooper Young, the .former Mable Duke from Raleigh and Mr. Tommle Leonard from Nashville; and great grand children, Mr. Wilbur Southall and his wife and children and Mr. and Mrs. Lindsay Harri son and their children. Harris Chapel To Have Homecoming The annual homecoming day will be observed next Sunday, October 23. Circle Meets The Mary Hester Powell Circle met in the home of Mrs. Howard Drewett Octo ber 17 with six members pre sent. Bessie Shadrack opened the meeting with the call to pray er, and during the business session the circle discussed the Importance of trying to get new members. Instead of having the pro gram as usual all the circles met at the church together to see slides and to hear Jack Martin from the Eastern Sem lary tell about the Baptist In Appallachla.
