Private Rites Unite Dr. Joyner, Miss Culpepper On Sunday The sanctuary of the Louisburg Baptist Church was the setting Sunday, March 30, at 3 o'clock for a private ceremony characterized with beauty and simplicity in which Miss Claudia L?e Cul pepper became the bride of Dr. Raymond Edward Joy ""The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Cle monts Culpepper of West Palm Beach, Florida and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Oscar Joyner of Louisburg, N. C. The vows were pledged in an impressive double ring ceremony before the pastor, Reverend Aubrey S. Tomlin son. Mrs. A. B, Strother, organ ist, rendered a program of nupital music. Miss Mary Elizabeth Fuller, soloist of Durham, sang "Entreat Me Not to Leave Thee" and "The Wedding Prayer". Miss Sharon Culpepper, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and Mrs. Avery J. Dennis, sister of the groom, the matron of honor. Mr. Joyner was his son's best man. Ushers were Dr. Avery J. Dennis, brother-in law of the groom, and James W. Mitchiner, uncle of the groom. The couple will reside~m Richmond where Mrs. Joyner is a registered nurse at the Medical College of Virginia and Dr. Joyner an intern. RECEPTION Immediately after the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Cul pepper, parents of the bride, entertained at a lovely recep tion at the church in the educStional building. Mr. and Mrs. George A. Dennis greeted the guests while the reception line was being formed. Mrs. Florence Wells pre sented the receiving line which included the wedding party and the parents of the bride and groom. Mesdames George West, William H. Fleming, Dan L. Holt and Gladys Dare assisted in serving. Mrs. James Mitchiner pre sided at the bridal register. Goodbyes were spoken to Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Joyner DINNER Preceding the wedding re hearsal Saturday night, the parents of the groom, Mr. and Mrs Wilson 0. Joyner, were hosts at a dinner at The Mur phy House. March twenty-nine, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Fleming on Stratford Drive. Guests were greeted by the hosts and hostesses, Mr. and Mrs. Fleming and Mr. and Mrs. George M. West. Upon arrival, the bride elect was pinned with a pink cymbidium orchid and the groom to be was pinned with a white carnation bouten naire. Directed to the dining room, guests were served pink bridal punch, cheese biscuits, decorated bridal cakes, nuts, open face sandwiches, and party mints. Pouring punch were Mrs. Florence J. Wells and Mrs. James Mitchiner, aunts of the bridegroom to be. The dining table was cov ered with a pink cloth over laid with white lace. The cen terpiece was a silver candela brum with lighted tapers also holding a floral arrangement of pink snapdragons, carna tions, chrysanthemumfs, baby's breath and greenery. The buffet was arranged with gold candlesticks and tapers. A small gold box lay open with flowers arranged inside. On the piano in the living room was laid an open prayer book. Placed on a small silver tray beside the prayer book was a miniature bride and groom figurine encircled with baby's breath and greenery and com plimented by wedding bells. Approximately forty guests were in attendance. LUNCHEON Miss Claudia Culpepper and. Or. Raymond Joyner, members of the family, mem bers of tjie wedding party, and out of town guests were entertained at a wedding luncheon Sunday morning. March thirtieth, at eleven thirty at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Joyner on Jeffress Drive. Guests were greeted by host and hostesses, Mr. and Mrs. Joyner and Mrs. D. L. Holt of Carolina Beach. Upon arrival, the honored couple and guests were served juice appetizers before enjoy ing a buffet luncheon of country ham, chicken salad with crackers, asparagus cass erole, marinated mixed vege tables, tomato aspic, hot rolls and coffee. A dessert course of cheese cake was served following the meal. The buffet table was cov ered with a white cloth with neavy lace trim, ft loveiy floral arrangement of mums, carnations, snapdragons, baby's breath and compli menting greenery graced the buffet table. The mantel in the living room was centered with a low spreading arrangement of similar flowers. The credenza held a lovely arrangement of mums, carnations and baby's breath. In the den. a spring arrangement of yellow jon quils. forsythia. and pine Mrs. Patterson Entertains Bridge Party Youngsville ? Mrs. B. H. Patterson had a dinner and bridge party at her home Thursday evening with mem bers of the two local bridge clubs as guests. An Easter decorative theme was used for the oc casion. Aqua organdy cloths underlined with white cov ered serving tables. In the center of each was a pastel toned nest .holding a minia ture chicken just hatching from' his shell. Ornamental Easter eggs and spring flowers were additional party decora tions. Favors of tiny spring hats were attached to place cards for guests. Easter designed bridge tallies and napkins continued the chosen motiff. Dinner included chicken salad, peas in pastry shells, miniature pears, fruit salad, hot rolls and coffee. At con clusion of three progressions of bridge a dessert course served included cake squares iced in pastel colors, toasted nuts and beverages. High score prizes for one club went to Mrs. J. H. Par rish and Mrs. B. G. Mitchell; and for the other club to Mrs. Robert Neeb and Mrs. Bob Cheatham. Other guests in attendance were Mesdames W. F. Mitchell, G. E. Winston, C. V. Timberlake, E. J. Pearce, G. W. Barnes. H. H. Reddick, L. A. Woodlief, N. A. Brown, A. N. Corpening, Evelyn Freeman, E. R. Thar rington and Miss Susie Thar rington. Mrs. J. A. Green was in attendance for the dinner. Practice Teaching Fayetteville - Mrs. Jean Zealand Goss, a 1965 grad uate of Louisburg High School, is one of 47 Metho dist College students receiving teacher internship assign ments for the spring semestcfi according to E. A. West, di rector of student teaching. Mrs. Goss, a senior major ing in elementary education, will be student teaching at Luciie Souders School in Fayetteville. She is the daugh ter of Mrs. Gordon Zealand of 202 John Street. Louis burg. Her husband. Waltoft M. Goss, is also a student at Methodist. Methodist College is now completing its ninth academic year.
