Wake Weekly. Youngsville Woman's Club Installs Officers In Hawaiian Setting Youngsville ? South Sea Island music and scenery pro vided an Hawaiian Luau set ting for the annual Banquet of the Youngsville Woman's Club held at the Cardinal Cafeteria in Raleigh on Satur day night. An Installation Service for club officers was conducted by NCFWC Second Vice Pres ident Mrs. J. W. Weathers, Jr. Adhering to the Hawaiian idea, Mrs. Weathers choae a theme brought to mind by expressive hula hands. Speak ing on ways in which hands are used, she challenged of ficers and clubwomen to put their hand to productive ser vice. As each of the following officers was installed, a lei was looped over her head: President Mrs. Ben Hudson, First Vice President Mrs. Richard Timbertake; Second Vice President Mrs. W. M. Roberts. Recording Secretary Miss Jeanette Bell; Corre sponding Secretary Mrs. Claude Edwards; Treasurer Mrs. E. J. Pearce; and Chap lain Mrs. L. J. Phillip*. Young Hula Dancers in shimmering costumes did authentic native dances with meaningful arm movements Swaying to the rhythm of "My Little Grass Shack" were Donna Sullivan and Lisa Bar tholomew of Wake Forest; Susan Weatherford and Kelly Corpening of Youngsville. A personal Aloha was extended to each guest as dancers pre sented a lei to every one. For contrasting enter tainment, "The Monkeys" "staged a great performance. As the wild wigged Monkeys Gold Sand Club Meets Gold Sand Woman's Club met Monday night with Emilie Nelms with twelve members present. Roll call and minutes of last meeting were read and approved. Corine Murphy gave the devotional reading the 19th Palm. Margaret Alston led in prayer. Mrs. Ernie Raynor of Louisburg gave a very in teresting demonstration on crystal, china and silver. She showed several different beautiful patterns In each. She described how some of the crystal was blown. Mrs. Raynor stressed the point of setting a pretty table each day In crystal, china and sil ver even though it did not have to be the most expensive on the market. It teaches the small children how to u?e It. The' group enjoyed the dem onstration. Roberts Beta Pres. Youngsville - Phil Wiggins, newly elected Reporter for the Youngsville High School Beta Club, reports that a Beta Club meeting was held this week with the main Item or business being to elect the following officers to serve for the 1869 70 year: President. Rodney Rob erts, Vice President, Harriett Pearce; Secretary, Janet Pearce; Treasurer, Glenh Evans; Reporter, Phil Wiggins. in their surfing and flower child styles, gyrated in one area, a too realistic appearing monkey slipped in from the opposite direction to mingle with guests. "Gitar Zan" and The Monkey appeared to do their thing. Pandemonium really broke loose when "Jane" drifted in. The beauti ful blonde clad in a polka dot bikini joined the entertainers for a hilarious hit. Taking part in the humurous entertainment were E. J. Pearce, 0. L. Woodlief, H. H. Reddick, Archie Brown, and Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Phillips. Transformed by tropical* decorations, the banquet room lent atmosphere for the occasion. A hukilau replica on the head table included a sandy beach with hula girls, guitarists, seas shells, coral, set. fan, orchids, and minia ture palm and cocoanut trees; highlighted by floating candles in flower petals be neath a fountain. An aqua fishnet draped on the head table held catches of fish. Hurricane lamps and Island arrangements were featured on other tables. Place cards and favors continued the chosen theme. Hawaiian paintings on programs were done in water colon by Carol Mitchell and Debbie Brown with some assistance by Kelly Corpening. Mrs Ben Hudson was pre sented a president's bracelet from the club. Clubwomen recognized for perfect attendance during the past year were Mesdames J. T. Allen, W. T. Holden, W. F. 'Mitchell. Sr., B. H. Patterson, W. S. Preddy, W. O. Roberts, J. K. Tharrington, L. A. Woodlief, and E. J. Pearce. President Mrs. Hudson pre sided at the Luau; and Invo cation was by Mrs. L. J. Phillips. Guests recognized were husbands of clubwomen; Mr. and Mrs. Bob Allen of Wake Forest; Mr. and Mrs. Willis Honeyeutt of Raleigh; Mrs. Robert L. Weatherford, Mr. t and Mrs. Mike Chesson, Mrs. J. A. Green; C. Wrenn who won the Citizenship Award last year, and his date Miss Donna Collins. On the banquet committee were chairman Mrs. B. H. Patterson and Meidames J. T, Moss. A. N. Corpenlng. H. H.
