Tuesday night at Gold Sand High School. Mr. McDonald in his speech used the poem FOUR THINGS by Henry Van Dyke. He emphasized that any well rounded, worthwhile person must think without confusion, love his fellowmen sincerely, act from honest motives and trust in God and heaven securely. His message was a challenge for his lis teners to dedicate themselves to the things that men mutt do to save themselves and our civilization. The Validictorian award was presented to Betty Bowers and the Salutatorian award was presented to Paula Gupton. Late "Walter, I ordered in egg sandwich and you brought me a chicken sandwich." Alumnae Award as an out standing dental hygiene gra duate from the University of North Carolina Dental School. Bettie is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hagwood Kay bon of Zebulon and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs Bobbie Peoples of Louis burg. The award, presented by Mrs. Katharine 1). Neal at the Annual Spurgeon Dental So ciety Awards Banquet, is given to the graduate who. in the opinion of the faculty, possesses those outstanding personal characteristics and positive attitudes which re flect the finest ideals of the university and the dental hygiene profession Miss Kaybon was also elected to Sigma Phi Alpha Dental Hygiene Honor So ciety.
