Duke Shirey of Franklinton,
age 41, died Tuesday morning
at Duke Hospital following a
lengthy illness. The body was
>_ l4ken to Thompson's Funeral
Home In West Columbia.
South Carolina. Funeral ar
rangements are incomplete.
Survivors are her husband,
James Franklin Shirey; one
son, Richard Franklin; two
daughters. Cynthia Louise
and Elsie Dartene. all of the
home. Also surviving are her
mother. Mrs. Hazel Duke of
Batesburg. S. C.; three sisters,
Mrs. Grace Tardiff and Mrs.
Agnes Chapman of Saluda. S.
C.; Mrs. Doris Matthews of
Batesburg and two brothers.

held today at 3 p.m. at Beu
lah Christian Church by the
Rev. Carl Dixon, W. C. Bar
ham and Shannon Scott.
Burial will follow in the
Mitchell family cemetery.
Surviving: a daughter, Mrs.
Audrey P. Mitchell of the
home; two brothers, Lubin
and Clarence Mitchell of
Route 1, Youngsville; two sis
ters. Mrs. Artelia Floyd of
Route 1, Louisburg and Mrs.
Mavis Tant of Wilson; two
grandchildren; one great
grandchild.

75, a retired farmer, died
Wednesday. Funeral services
will be held 4 p.m. Friday at
the Mountain Grove Baptist
Church. Services wil be con
ducted by Rev. Marshall Sar
gent and Rev. Paul Childers.
Burial will followed in the
Faulkner family cemetery. -
