In Service WILLIE C. MULLINS, JR. SAN ANTONIO Airman Willie C. MuUins, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs W. C Mullins of Rt. 2, Louisburg, N. C., has completed basic training at lackland AFB, Tex. He has been assigned to Chanute AFB, 111., for training in air craft maintencance. Airman MuUins is a graduate of Hen derson (N.C.) High School. WILLIE F. PERRY, JR. FAIRFIELD. CALIF. - W. S. Air Force Sergeant Willie F. Perry. Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Willie F. Perry, Sr., 101 Railroad St., Louisburg, N. C., has arrived for duty at Travis AFB, Calif. Sergeant Perry, a materiel specialist, is assigned to a unit of the Strategic Air Com mand. He previously served at Gooae AB, Labrador. The sergeant graduated from high school in Louis burg. His wife, Bettie, is the daughter of Mrs. Willie B. King of Louisburg. ARNOLD M. ROBERTS \ Arnold M. Roberts, U. S. Navy, son of Mrs. J. L. Rob erts of Franklinton, N. C. and Mr. J. L. Roberts of Wilming ton, N. C. has been promoted to Master Chief Petty Officer. He is serving as Resident As sistant Exchange Officer at the Armed Forces Staff Col lege, Norfolk, Va. Chief Roberts is married to the former Joyce Goswick and maintains residence in Franklinton. They have four children, Denise, Craig, Dean and Albert. Sanders returned home on Thursday after be ing a patient at Rex Hospital (or several days. Mrs. Mabel Pearce is out and doing well after being a patient at Duke Hospital for three days last week. Mrs. David Kinlaw and children of Valpariso. Florida are here for a visit with Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Winston. Ricky Tharrington is at tending summer school at Campbell College. Mrs. Julia Issacs of Lenoir, and her grandaughter Sherry, arrived Friday to visit with Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Winston. Mrs. Stephen Wiggins has been a patient at Wake Memorial Hospital in Raleigh for several days during the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Wiley M. Roberts and children and Mrs. J. E. Underwood and children are vacationing this week at White Lake, N. C. Mrs. Stephen Wiggins, who was taken to Wake Memorial Hospital in Raleigh Friday after an automobile accident, was moved to the Wake Forest Branch Hospital in Wake Forest Saturday. Mrs. Lucy Pearce entered Rex Hospital Monday of this week to undergo minor sur gery. Mrs G. W. Barnes left dur ing the weedend to visit with Mr. and Mr*. G. W. Barnes, Jr. in Concord. From there the family planned to vacation in Georgia and at Myrtle Beach. Glen Evan* returned home Sunday after a visit with rela tives in Windsor. Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Wood lief and family have been vacationing at the beach dur ing the past week in the Morehead City area. Franklinton Miss Marsha Tillotson of Louisburg visited Mrs. Mary Coffman and Mrs. Minnie Harris last week. Rev. and Mrs. W. L. Stur tevant of Covington, Virginia are visiting Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Goswick on Layton Street. Mrs. Fred Blount has re turned home after visiting Mr. and Mrs. Paul Blount in Pa duccah, Kentucky. Mrs. Troy Hall and sons, Darrell and Darren, of Bur lington spent a few days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Strickland, and brother Spencer. Louisburg Mrs Genevieve Perry, Misses Lucy P. Burt, Adelaide Johnson nd Elizabeth John son returned Sunday from a 16-day tour of the Nova Scotia, Gape' territories of Canada, traveling with the Trail ways out of Raleigh. Film Program In order to help parents to better understand the needs and problems or young child ren and teenagers, the Family Counseling and Education Center is presenting a series or rilms during the months or August and September in this specific interest area. "Meeting the Needs or Ad olescents" which rocuses on the physical, mental, social and religious development or teenagers, and "Fears or Children" which discusses ways to cope with emotions and fears of young children may be viewed at the center during the week August 4-8. Regular showing times are 1:15 P.M. and 3:30 P.M. Wednesdays. Films will be shown at any time during the week if advance request is made. Receives Quarter Century Certificate Mil. Sadie Hedrick is shown above receiving Burlington Industries' Quarter Century Club certificate, awarded for twenty-five years of continuous service with the Company. Also awarded is a diamond-studded gold service pin Plant Manager Lamar Green (1) and Weaving Supervisor Cannon Moore (r), expressed sincere appreciation for the faithful work and loyal service exhibited by Mrs. Hedrick and the other nineteen Franklinton Fabrics Quarter Century Club members. Ronnie Johnson, Plant Superintendent, also congratulated Mrs. Hedrick and talked about the many changes which have been seen at Franklinton Fabrics the past twenty-five years. County 4-H'ers Attend Congress Thirteen 4-H'ers from Franklin County attended 4-H Club Congress in Raleigh July 28, 1969 to August 1 1969. Those receiving scholar ships to Congress were Dan Harris, Myra Harris, Sandra Harris and Dorothy Wood. They participated in the ac tivities by giving demonstra tions. Dan's was in Ornamental Plants and Landscaping. Myra's in Home Improve ment, Dorothy's in Fruit and Vegetable Use and Sandra modeled her dress in the Dress Revue. Charlie McKnight per formed on TV during the week by playing and singing "How Great Thou Art." Jac quelyn Driver and Bryant Foster attended the Key Award Banquet. Hersey Carroll and Bryant Foster attended the State Winners Recognition Ban quet. They were state winners in the corn and agriculture project. Myra Han-is and Dorothy Wood placed second in their demonstrations.
