Attending were Mesdames k. R. Tharrington, J. E Underwood, N. A. Brown Ben Hudson, L. A. Woodlief ?nd Mrs. H. H. Reddick and Mrs. R. E. Cheatham who won the two high score prizes ior the evening. Caramel-iced fresh apple cake topped with whipped cream was served with coffee ?fter the first progression of bridge. Cheese straws and beverages were served later. Matching red and white checkered bridge tallies, nap kins and coasters' were used. Bride-elect Honored (Ffk. B.W.) Miss Sandra Thweatt, bride-elect of Au gust thirtieth, was honored at a miscellaneous shower at the Franklinton Community House Saturday, August 16. Hostesses were Mrs. Shel by Senter and Miss Donna Thweatt-. The Community House was decorated in a bridal motif On the mantle there were candelabras and a bridal doll. Wedding bells hung from streamers. The serving table was covered with a white linen cloth. The centerpiece was a miniature bride and groom Hanked by summer newer; Wedding bells extended from the streamers whicb hune from the table. , Miss Donna Thweatt pre ssed over the punch bowl. Jr., Mr. John Mrs. Pearce Attends League Meet The Louisburg League of Women Voters was represent ed at it's Regional Conference in Atlanta, Georgia on August 19th by Mrs. J. A. Pearce, Sr. This conference was well re presented by about 30 wo men from the 18 leagues in North Carolina. The region is composed of N. C., S. C., Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Tenn., Kentucky and West Virginia. There were approx imately 250 members pre sent. Mrs. Pearce drove down along with Mrs. Gordon Sharpe from the Chapel Hill League. ? Executive Board Meets Patricia Freeman, Presi dent of Louisburg's Future Homemakers of America Chapter, called a meeting of the executive board Monday, August 18th, to discuss the initiation of new members, programs for the year and the district planning session. Wednesday, August 20th, Linda Baldwin and Patricia Freeman along with Mrs. Leonard attended the District 4 FlIA's planning session at Northern Nash High School. Students and advisors from Durham, Franklin, Granville, Harnett. Johnston, Lee, Nash, Person, Orange, Vance and Wake counties were repre sented at this meeting. Linda and Patricia repre sented the FHA'ers in Frank lin County. Plans, programs, and other activities were dis cussed and assignments made for various activities for the District rally to be at North ern Nash School on October 4 th.
