WHEREAS, the 1969 Ses
sion of the North Carolina
General Assembly enacted
Chapter 1228 S.L. 1969,
amending Article 5 of Chap
ter 105 of the General Statu
tes of North Carolina by add
ing thereto a new division
designated as Division IX, and
entitled "Local Option Sales
and Use Tax Act"; and
WHEREAS, under the
terms and provisions of said
Act the Board of Elections of
each County is required to
call and conduct a special
election on Tuesday, Novem
