Griffin, Guplon Wedding At Wood Baptist Mia Kathy Elizabeth Gup ton and Elliot Scott Griffin, U. S. Coast Guard, sroke their wedding vows Thursday, November 27, at 4:00 p.m. o'clock, at the Wood Baptist Church in a candelight cere mony. The Rev. Albert Sher bert, pastor of the bride, offi ciated at the double-ring cere mony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Linwood H. Gupton of Route 2, Louis burg, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie R. Griffin of Route 1, Casta lia. A program of nuptial music was rendered by organ ist, Miss Joy Bobbitt of Lou isburg! Soloist, Mrs. Billie Wood, of Route 1, Castalia, sang "Because," "Whither Thou Goest." and "The Wed ding Prayer." The church was decorated with lovely white glads and mums of yellow and white, greenery, and candelabras. A white aisle was laid which formed a walkway to the altar for the wedding party. The bride, given in marri age by her father, wore a formal length gown of white silk organza and Chantilly lace over peau de soie. The empire bodice of Chantilly lace featured a scalloped neck and long lace sleeves, both accented with seed pearls. The A-line skirt was of silk organza and Chantilly lace with a scalloped hem line. The -long, flowing train of illusion also was trimmed in Chantilly lace. The bride wore a bouffant veil of silk illusion attached to petals of Illusion and taee encircled in seed pearls. She wore a single strand of pearls and carried a cascade bouquet of white mi niature mums and yellow roses, showered with yellow lace and satin ribbon stream ers with love knots. The bride was attended by her sister-in-law, Mrs. Harris B. Gupton of Winston Salem, N. C., as matron of honor. She wore a floor length gown of apple green sorento linen with elbow length bell slee ves. The sleeves and hem line was accented with a contrast ing lace trim of greens and yellows. She wore a matching headpiece of illusion attached to a circle, and carried a single, long-stemmed yellow chrysanthemum with yellow streamers. MRS ELLIOT S GRIFFIN Honorary bridesmaid was Miss Paula Ray Gupton of Route 2, Louisburg. She wore a street length dress, identical to th? matron of honor, a matching bow in her hair and matching gloves. She wore a yellow chrysanthemum cor sage. The bride's mother wore a deep rose, polyester knit dress with matching accesso ries. Her corsage was of white carnations. The groom's mother wore a dress of royal blue polyester knit with matching accesso ries. She, also, wore a corsage of white carnations. Mrs. Ernest Baker of Har rellsville. N. C., maternal grandmother, wore a royal blue crepe dress and jacket with black accessories and a corsage of white carnations. , Mr. Jatk.
