SEVENTH STREET CHURCH NOTES. gy Miss Marie 8. Lindsay Sunday morning we listened to a sermon by the pastor from Romans 10:10: “For with the heart man believeth unto right eousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salva tion.” The way unto life mid salva tion is simple. Men like to have something external hap pen to show them that they are Christians. In order to become a Christian, we must believe the story of the gospel. We must believe in our hearts. Jesus is the object of belief. If we be lieve in him and are willing to trust ourselves to him, he will give us life. We must believe the suffering He bore upon the cross; the great atonement He made was made for our sins. We must be lieve He is willing to forgive us our sins. If we believe these things, we should give our selves entirely to Him. This being Decision Day, every one who has not given himself to Christ should do so. The blood of Christ cleanseth us from all sin. When man is brought under the dominion of grace, then the whole man is governed by the principles of the kingdom. We must love the Lord our God with all our mind and strength and our neighbor as ourselves. The choir rendered a special selection Sunday morning, “Just As I Am.” Prof. S. Perdue, of the Sec ond Ward High School, was a visitor in our church Sunday. Decision Day was observed in Sabbath school during Sabbath school hour. Quite a few young folks decided to give themselves to Christ. Miss Irene Dawkins sang “Decide for Jesus.” Entertainments were given at the following homes during the week : Monday night, Mrs. Mary Gilliard; Tuesday night, Mr. and Mrs. James Young's; Thursday night, Mrs. C.R. As he called to his mate in the tree above; My heart was thrilled with his lilting lay,— l heard a lark at the dawn of day, And my fancy wandered in dreams away While I listened entranced to his « song of love; As he called to his mate in the tree above.
