i CHURCH NOTES. By Mine Marie & Lindsay The members and friends liatoifld to a sermon Sunday morning by the pastor from I Corinthians 3:16: “Know ye not that we are consecrated to God; and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” " The speaker said, This | Scripture was directed to believ * ers. A temple was a place that was consecrated to God for His ? service, a place that was holy, because it was set aside for God. “Solomon’s temple ws magnifi cent as to its size, beauty and greatness. Great care was tak ^ en of the temple; nothing was spared. “Nothing can be compared to our temple, the body. No one can construct such a temple but God. The human body has been dignified, because Jesus Himself was human. The Holy Spirit comes to dwell in the temple of God. To have this divine per sonage to dwell with us means that we are consecrated top God; that we submit to Him as a Rul er, and as Master of us all.” We say, “Dear Lord, I give myself to Thee, ’Tis all that I cari do” We have surrendered to Him and should therefore render service. We should not try to select work for the Mas ter, but should go wherever he sends us. He is in the temple as a Guide to us through this pil grimage of life, to incline oiir hearts to walk in the right way, and to call us back when we at tempt to go astray. If we follow Him, we will not stumble, nor walk in the dark. If we walk in the right way, He will assist us with every burden that we have. If we want our way and are not desirous of following God, we are lacking in consecration. Sunday night, an interesting program was rendered in con nection with a pew rally. The. religion of Jesus Christ means a great deal to me, for it ’makes me 7 think constantly about God who has made us and not we ourselves. Having this religion, I en deavor to loVe and fear God to the best of my ability, knowing that such a being requires me to do so.; ' ' ; My opinion is thiet the sys tem of worship on which this re ligion is based, suits anyone who would but embrace it, owing to its simplicity and truthfulness. And then; too, there is reli gious work which can be accom plished with the assurance that it would be- accepted by Him whom we are endeavoring to fol low and to serve. And not ’Only that, but one obtains courage and fortitude to prosecute whatever task he may have to do, so "iong^ as he pos sesses ,_;thjs religion of Jesus Christ, our blessed Redeemer. j ED. W.
