Workman, an old and highly respected resident of Greens -. boro and known by many of he county people, died suddenly yester day morning at his homo on East Sycamore street. . . . : ; Although, h . had retired from ac tive business several years ago on account of his health, he was wel enough to enjoy life and be Inter ested in. the home which he had Pro vided when a younger man. He was working in his - garden a half hour before the summons came, only stopping when he became dizzy from looping, as he then supposed, but which proved in reality a . warning that the end was near. Besides his widow, a brother liv ing in r.rpnshro and another in Norfolk survive, the latter, Mr J Wil liam W. Workman, being expected to arrive in time for the funeral which .will be held this afternoon -at o'clock from the First Baptist church, - 'i - Mrs. C. S. Williams. j After a weeks' illness Mrs: C. S. Williams died Tuesday night at the heme of her son, Dr. J. A. Williams, where she had been cn a visit. Her illness was ser'ous from the i first, and refused to yield to medical 'skill. ' " " - ' - ,' ; 1 Mrs. Williams was 76 years old and the widow of the late James P. Williams, of Caswell county. She was a woman of lovable disposition and had made many friends in Greens boro during her short stay : in the city. . ;; " i The remains were taken to Pros pect Hill for interment in the old family burying ground. ! - v . , t - ... - - - : i -Mrs. L. H. Edgerton. 1 i Mrs. L. H. Mrs. Ruf us ; Moore, of Guilford College. She was a member of "the Friends church and the funeral will be held from this church at Guilford this afternoon at 3-30 o'clock.
