Venus went to Mount Airy
"Saturday and returned Monday
with Mr. and Mrs. John P. A.
Fisher in their automobile and it
never cost Venus one cent. We
took our Kodak and brought
Pilot Mountain - back with us in
our Kodak We went just for
the pleasure of the trip and to
get. some views. Among them
was the new factory at Yadkin,
an ox team, mountain range.

Airy, two family groups and
others too numerous to mention
We met Mr. and Mrs, John D.
Kluttz. They are running the
Central hotel in Mt, Airy. We
took supper with them Sunday
night. They have a big crowd o
boarders among them some Salis
bury or Rowan County boys
Charley Bost, Will Crawford and
Jessie Brown. We met some
Rowan bovs. Harrv Beaver, Car
Walton. Charlev Walton. Luther
iLudwick and others. We spen
one night with Mr. and Mrs
Martin Parker. We spent one
night with Mr. and Mrs. Harvey
Beaver, who live near the center
of the town.
. As we came home from Mt.
Airy we passed through Betha-
nia, N. C, Forsythe County,
where one of the high schools of
that county is located arid has
over 100 enrolled. Some of the
students reside 4 to 5 miles away
while' others board in town! The
high school has a music and
domestic science department in
connection with it. The old brick
Moravian church has a pipe or
gan of very sweet tone which has
; been in continuous use since
March 17731 This instrument
was built in Germany and is as
good as when it was first built

settled by Moravians from Ger-
many and Pensylvania in June,

delphia are visiting Rev. and
Mrs. H. A. Welker at the' Re
formed parsonage at Faith. Miss
Guann was a school mate of Mrs
Welker and Miss Guedin is a
cousin of Mr. Welker. "While
here the whole crowd visited
Venus' private museum.
It is Venus' birthday the last
day of October. Last year we
received some nice birthday
cards. This year we expect to
make a list of them and put it
in our items

The orphans' class from Naza
reth Orphan's Home gave a fine
entertainment at the Reformed
church here Sunday night to a
packed house." The collection
amounted to twenty-one dollars
and fifty cents.

went up to Mrs. bargers bro
ther's, John Rodgers, in their
auto Saturday evening to spend
the night.
Harvey Basinger and family
went up in his automobile to visit
his wife's pareut Mr. and Mrs

Mr. and Mrs William Walter
Canup's. There are 11 in the
family. Mrs. Canup is a good
cook and sets a fine table. We
slept in a good old time feather
bed and sat by a by a big open
lire of logs just like old times
