April 18,1917 n3SQirs Celebrate 23th Salisbury Chapter No. 20, Royal Arch Masons, cele brated their 68th anniversary in their hall on the third floor of the Colonial Theatre Monday evening, which wae in K6ribr of the older mem bers of the order. There were three candidates f r the Royal Arch Degree the work, of which was exemplified by pist .officers of the iod?e. There was a report of the year's work by O P Davis, secretary, and address of wel come by O W Spencer and response by li K Rein. Short talks were made by E B Neave, A L Smoot of Salis bury, and W L Crawford of Lexington. There were a number of visitors present among whom were 0 W Orr, Grand H'gii Priest of the State of New York; W S LiddeP of Char lotte, and I. Litchenatein of NawYork, a former rnsident oi oaiisoury. mere were more than one hundred pres ent in all. After the degree work and speech making a delightful banquet was participated in and greatly enjoyed. The Masonic order is one of the largest and best orders in the world and-has a splendid record and exalted objects as an inspiration for its member ship, Constipation and Indigestion. T. Kincaid. W T Kincaid of Statesville. a native of the southwestern por tion of Franklin Township, this county, died iat his home in Statatesville Monday noon from the effects of paralysis. The funeral was held at the residence at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon, Dr. G E Raynal officiating. The interment being Oakwood, Statesville. The Landmark has the following in reference to his death: ' Some months ago Mr. Kincaid suffered a slight stroke of paraly. sis. He was confined but a few days at the time but he did not regain his .health and his friends feared the worst. On the -2nd of March he suffered a second stroke and since then his death had been expected at any hour. "William Thomas Kincaid, 59 years old, was born aud reared in Pran&lin church neighbor hood, Rowan County. In 1888 he and his brother, H L Kincaid, engaged in the lumber business under the firm name of Kincaid Bros, and the partnership con tinued ;to fhe present. For a time they were located at Rock Out (now Eufola), later at Cleve land and since about1 1902 they have lived in Statesville. Por a time they were interested in furniture manufacturing in Statesville and for some years they have had a business at VIocksville. About 25 years ago Mr. Kin caid married Miss v ay Steele of Rowan, who survives him. Five years later his brother. H L Kincaid, married a sister of Mrs. W T Kincaid, and the two oroth ers and their wives lived together from the time of their marriage until a few years ago.
