On Tuesday Biorning, May 2nd, as a friend informs us, a most re volting murder took place in Pitt county eight mies below Green ville. The particilara of the mur der are in brief thai there was a feud of long standing lietween two brothers, Wil iam aud Henry Hattock, the cade of which we are not informed On Monday Henry Hattock ; was in Greenville and was seen after eleven o'clock at night on the itreets in an in toxicated condition, and on Tues day indrning about sunrise he went to his brother's -Louse. He was met at the door by his brother's wife, (Mr. YVm. Hattock being ab sent attending to his duties on the farm) and immediately knocked her dowu and tiegau beating her. The cnildren, attracted ty lier cries, ran to her rescue, when he hurled them violently . against the wall. At this juncture of affairs Mr. lVm. Mattock came in and attempted to stop uis brother ii a aaml to hand conflict without effect, and seeing that his uncle was I beating both his father and mother, the little son, aged twelve years, raised his shot guu, took deliberate aim, fired and killed his uncle. ' One of the shot took effect in his right temple and two in his. neck. He. only lived about an hour after being shot A coroner's inquest was held and a verdict ot justifiable homicide was rendered. - Both the brothers are in good circumstances, and of respectable families, aud the sad event has cast a gloom over both families and thetr friends.
