Therefore they were arrested -and placed in the guard house .Thursday morn ing, and. to Wilson for trial Friday, where. they were discharged, evi dence not being strong enough for conviction, they claiming they were onlv "out on abttleinnocentspree-" Saturday came the news of rob beries in Wilson, and reports that Three strange-men had been seen on the outskirts of the town. The ctizensof the town armed them selves and commenced a hun1". three men were seen by some of our party to jump a fence on the west side of the town, and were pursued through a cornfield to the woods. Since then we Imve had extra police on-duty watching the tow n. Our fears may be ground less,, as our search has so tar been fruitless, but tis said best that safety b'.'s in lear, and w may perhaps find some robbers lurking, near; Sheriif- Farmer with his deputy was in our town last Monday, pa tiently waiting the settlement of the taxes, due, by the citizens, of k Creek township.
