North Carolina may now be said to
be opened. The State Executive
Committee in session at Raleigh on

The State Convention was called
to meet in Raleigh, June 25th. It
will nominate candidates foi Governor
and other State officers and presiden
tial deleeates-at-large. It will also
elect a State Executive Committee,
elect delegates to the National )em-
ocratic convention and transact other
business coming properly before the
meeting. '. ; ,
The committee changed the par
ty's plan of organization so that mi
nority representation will be given in
all conventions, beemnins" in the
township. This is an innovation
which the last State convention di
rected the committee to make. The
committee also made the precinct the
unit of organization, instead the town

The discussion of all questions in
the meeting of the committee was full
and free and lite members express
ed their opinions as to the situation
at length. There was no limit to de
bate and the'meetinglasted until three
o'clock in the morning. ! I
