I was talking one day with a lady about a friend whom wo knew and loved, and she said: "If there is a heaven up on earth it is in his home!" It was a home from which selliihoess had been expelled and love ha 1 come in to take its place. Types imperfectly shadow the thing! they arc intended to represent, but the the stock of liuui.w huppinms wo'ild bo greatly increased if Christians would strive to make their homes here types of the better home hereafter, of which it is said there shall in nowise enter into it anything that dcGleth. There is moral force in a home made beautiful by architecture and art, but there is uplifting power in a home that is made attractve by a puro and happy family life. A Christian father once slid to a minister: "The moral anchorage of my sons is their cheerful, pure, attrac tive home life." The humblest home may be made the centre of the highest happiness. In a re cent article in a Western paper, the writer says: "Over a coffin the other day ' heard a man say of the sleeper: 'In pov erty and grief she never failed to have i kind and hopeful word for me.'" Suih a tribute as that opens to us a glim se of a home that had a heaven in it. We often say that it will be our high est happinesi in heaven to be with Jesus. Why may we uot have a foretaste of that happiness by having Jesus with us in our homes here? It is written to God's chosen people that when, over all the land, there was darkness that uiicht be felt, "All the children of Israel had light in their dwelling."
