SOUTH KUN WOMKV. On the first pae of this issue we pub lish an article headed "Southern Women, What They Found to Do In the Great Civil War." It is a story ol their trials aud heroic deeds, their bravery, loyalty and devotion as told by a Southerner to a Worcester, Mass., Sunday School. The ad dress is full of interest and especially so to the noble women who made so many sacrifices during the lout Ions yars of the terrible strife. He tells in a graphic manner the work that was done by the noble Southern women and of the dan gers, trials and heartrending scenes through which thoy passed. We ask all our readers to give it a careful perusal. Cotuinfr, as it does from a Southerner, and delivered to a people whi weie our eatmies duriug that great coutliet, it points out clearly that we are now indeed and in truth a re-united people and that the glorious old flag of the Union is as dear to the hearts of the Southern people as it is to those who upheld it during the war, It is a good sign of that teturu of peace aud brotherly love, when a Southerner can go into the very hotbed of our late enemies apd interest them with a story oi the bravery, the devotion and self- sacrificing love of the Southern women during the time when the North and the South were mortal enemies. There are women in North Carolina who will be particularly interested in this address, for in ail the fair Southland there were no braver, more loyal or sell saerificiug women than those of the dear old North State. The brave women of North Carolina will recall the many scenes through which they passed when they read l'rof. Ellin' address. It is in deed and in truth an excellent paper and wo heartily commend it to our readers, old and young. Clllc'.viii h:id nearly forty eases of suicide during the month of June.
