Wbuiker, made his report, showing a most farorabi state of the order. He stated that since bis Inst report not a single subordinate council has surrendered its charter and that thirty two Dew councils had been organized and twelve old ones resuscitated. Patrick, V hitiey and Harrington On Grievances and Appeals, Messrs. Williams, McKoy and Dixon. llev R. H. Whitaker read a communica tion from Oak City Council relative to the death of Maj. D. S. Hill. A memorial in regard to the constitution al law of expulsion, from EdgcorabCouncil, was read and referred to the committee on Appeals. The Secretary then called the roll and the Council heard representatives on the Mate of their Councils. Their reports were in the main favoiable. During the reporta it was asserted that the little town of Cary had not a single grog shop and not a person known to use profane language. Lat Sunday, soon nfter dinner, Mr. Liltlcbury Bradley walked out of his house a short distance and was sud denly taken with a faiotoess aud shortness of breath and called for aid. Assistance was immediately afforded, bin before he could be boroe to hia house he was dad. The disease is supposed to have beeu ,som? elT-v-tion of the heart. Mr. Bradley is one of the most worthy cit izens of oar county and his death will Ue de plored by many. He leaves a wife and six or sen children, 'all grown. Seager, wa3 in our town Wednesday, making arrangements for a visit of the Tremaines and Concert next Monday night. From what we have seen in the papers and heard from those who have attended these entertainments, we have no doubt they are flrt class. In fact it is seldom that our people can enjoy such a musical treat, and we hope they will take advantage of it and give the Tremaines a full turnout.
