So were also tbo horses very ordinary ones, not to bo compared with the cream-colored and the clay-bank steeds in the royal stables at Hanover. But in St. George's chape 1 cyerything is grand. Here the Queen has crcctod a magnificent marbie monument to the memory of her husband, and has made this part of the chapels walls gorgeous with iulaid work, print ings and inscriptions. The other part of the chapel, mostly used for worship, has also several monuments in it, erected to the memory of the dead. It has also a jjrand organ, choir division, altar. &c. ; but I saw no pulpit in it. It might have been there, but I did not notice it. I re turned to my boarding house much fati gued, but'wsll pleased and satisfied with my visit ; and on the way could not Ye f rain from congratulating myself for being a plain and comparatively unknown man, with love and plenty in my family; for which I heartily thank God, for my con dition could not be improved to suit my taste and wan's. I next went to Westminster bridge, and visited the Ulterior of the " houses of Parliament, which afforded me much pleasure. ' Like at Windsor castle, I had first to procure a ticket of permission which is easily done. The various halls, the vestibules, the Queen's robing room are all filled, either with marble statues of kings, queens and statesmen, or" with historical paintings of great merit. Thcie is a kind of throne in the Queen's robing room!, but the real throne is in the House of Lords' room. This the Queen occupies in opening the sessions oi I'arhament.
