OXB MGDT OpWbIRIJTG The Tearful founds that Kept a Sleep-Ine-Car Awake All Kight. Burlington Hawkeye. It wa3 in the Cedar Rapids sleeper. Outside it was dark as the inside of an ink bottle. In tne sleeping-car peoiile slept. n- tru-d it. . UI b . . . ... - Some of them slept, like Christian men jud women, peacefully and sweetly and quietly " . " 4 " Others hlcyt like demons, malignantly, MJeorsly, fiendishly, as though it was their, mission to keep everybody else Of these, the man in lower number three wa3 tho "boss." When it came to a square snore with variations, you want ed to count ' lower throe" in, with a full hand and a pocket full of rocks. We never heard anything snore like him. I1 W3S tne raost systematic snoring was ever done, even on one of those amenta of snoring, a sleeping car, ge didn't begin as soon as the lamps were turned down and everybody was in bed. Oh, do. There was more cold-blooded diabolism in his system than that. He waited until everybody had had a little taste of sleep, just to see how ,good and pleasant it was, and then he broke in on their slumbers like a winged, breathing demon, and they never knew what peace was again that night. He started off with a terrific ' 'Gn-r-r-t 1M That opened Cvery eye in the car. We all hoped it was an accident, however, and MiRtintr that he wouldn't do it a?ain. we a y - all forgave him. Then he blasted our hopes and curdled the swe;t serenity of our for giveness by a long drawn 'Gvv-a-h-h-h-hah 1" That sounded too much like . business to be accidental. Then every head in that 8leeplcs sleeper was held off the pil low for a minute, waiting, in breathless suspense, to hear the worst, and the sleep er in "lower three'' went on, in long-drawn, regular cadences that indicated good stay ing qualities. . ' "Owa-a-ah! Gwa-a-a-h ! Gahwahwah I Gahwahwah ! Gahwa-a-a-ah 1" Evidently it was going to last all night; and the weary heads dropped back on the aUopless pillows, and the swearing began; 7mumbled along in low, muttering tones, liie the distant echoes of a profane thun derstorm. Pretty soon "lower three" gave us a little variation. He shot off a spite ful "Gwookr Which'sonnded every much as though his nose had got angry at him and was going to strike. Then there was a pause, and we began to hope he had either awakened from sleep or strangled to death, nobody cared very particularly which. But he disappointed everybody with a guttural "Gurooch I" ' Then he paused again for breath, and when he had accumulated enough for bis purpose he resumed business with a stentorious -.- - "Kowpf 1" ' ' He ran through all the ranges ? of the nasal gamut, he went up and down 'a very chromatic scale of snores, he ran through intricate and fcarlul variations until it seemed that his nose must be out of joint in a thousand places. AH the night and all night through -ho told his story. Gawoh 1 guirah ! gu-r-r-r I Kowpff ! Gawawwah I gawah-hah I gwock 1 gwarrt! $wah-h-h-U-wbbof 1" Just as the other passengers had con wted together how they might slay him, fioroing dawned, and "lower number three" awojke. Everybody patched the curtain" to see whatmannerJof man it was that had made'ihafT beautiful sleeping car pandemonium, Presently the toilet curtains parted, and "lower number three" stood revealed. Great heavens! It was a fair young girl, with golden hair, and timid,? pleading eyes, like a hunted fawn's. Nourishing Blood. To designate this natural snecillc compound, I have named it . Dr. Pierce's Favorite Prescription. The term, howeve Is but a feeble ejflrcsston Of my hiyh appreciation of its value, based upon my own personal observation. As a close 'ob server, I nave, while witnessing its positive re sults in the lew special diseases incident to the .separato orpar.-ism of woman, sinxled it out aa tlie climax or crowning fscm of my medical career. On its merits, as a iosf tive, safe, and effectual remedy for this class of diseaf-es, and one that will, at all times and under all circumstances, act kindly and in har mony with tlie laws which govern the female system, I am willing to etake my reputation as a physician. Nav, even more, m conlident am 1 that it will not disamoint the most sanguine expectations of a single invalid huty who uses it for any of the ailments for which I recommend it. that I offer and !-eil it under A lOSTXVJK iUAHANTEE. If a beneficial effect is not experienced bv thctiipe two-thirds of the con tents of the bottle are used, I will, on return of tho bottle, two-thirds of the medicine having been taken according- to directions, and tho case being one for which I recommend it, promptly refund the money paid for it. Had I not tlie most perfect confidence in its virtues, I cou'.d not offer it as I do under these conditions; but hav ing witnessed its trulv miraculous eures in thou sands of ciaes, I Tecl warranted and perfectly sao lu riskiiig bofch my reputation and ny money on It? merits. " Q Tho following are among those diseases in which my Favorite Prescription, haa1 worked cures, as if by magic, and with a cer tainty never before attained by any medicine: I-cucorrhoia, Excessive Flowing, Painful Monthly Periods, Suppressions when from un natural'caiiscs, Irregularities, Weak Back, Pro lapsus, or falling of tho Uterus. Anteversion and Retroversion, Bearing Down Sensations, Inter nal Heat, Jiervoua Depression, Debility. Des pondency, Threatened Miscarriage, Chronic Congestion, Inflammation and Ulceration of the Uterus, Im potency, Barrenness, or Sterility, Fe male Weakness, and very many other chronrc diseases incident to woman not mentioned here. In all affections of this nature, my Favorite Prescription worts cures -r tlio marvel of the worl I. This medicine I do not extol as a cure-all, but it admirably fullllls a single ness of purpose, being a most perfect 6paciflo in rll chronic diseases of the sexual sys tem of woman. It will not disappoint, nor will it do harm.in nny state or condition. Those who desire further information on these subjects can obtain it in Tub People's Comxoi i?EXSE Medical.
