Take Some Action, City Fathers. Ladies and children are often annoyed by two demeuted colored women who ars generally known as "Crazy Mag" and ' Kitty" who wander about the city doing pretty much as they please. Mag walked into a residence in the eastern portion of the city a few days ago and stalked about examining any and every article of house hold furniture that struck her fancy. The lady of the house was very much alarmed by such conduct and had it not been for the servant employed on the lot Mag might have been a little obstreper- ous. oucn persons as Mig ami Kitty certainlv cannot earn their living and do no good wandering through principal thoroughfares, frightening wemen and children. Let the vagrant law be im posed or have the unfortunate demented creatures cared for at the House of Cor rection. One Day's Cruise of the colax. The party of gentlemen, some thirty- five in number, a ho embarked on board ot the U S. Revenue Cutter Colfax, yes terday, after a delightful trip down the river and out on the deep blue sea for a short distance, returned to the city about 8 o'clock last night with a very satisfied eeling in regard to the doings of the day. The main object of the cruise, we understand, it was to show to the Lieu tenant Governor and Mr. Speaker Muring the works that are progressing under the supervision of the general government at the mouth of the river, and with this objsct in view A. H. Van Bjkkelen Esq., President of the Ouamber of Com merce, commuuicated with Hon. Joho Sherman, Secretary of the Treasury, and had the revenue cutter placed at tbe dis posal of the party for the day. Tnose who participated in the excursion speak of the management of the affair in exalted terms. Everything of interest connected with the government works was shown . to the distinguished gentlemen, who were tbe guests of the Chamber of Commerce and members of the Produce Exchange; while Captain Barr and his officers are extolled in the most complimentary manner for their polite attentions aad courtesies during the trip. Te some who had never been en board of a government vessel before tbe preciseness of every thing, the excllent discipline apparent and more than al 1 the quiet and orderly but prsmpt manner in which every order necessary lor the gov ernment of the ship was given and execu ted excited wonder and amazement. The day was a pleasant one, we are told, to aU who participated, and the results attained very satisfactory to all concerned. A yoong man up town is lamenting his sad fate.
