He ib neat and p. am in his drebts uua ad dress Dvie, who is oue of the poa eibihties uf the Senate - who ie one ut lit, puby belly tiea, too tarns r uud to face him. Robeson baa come in from the House Mid has a seat nes 0 Davis, and is nearly as large, though nanddome man c f tifty or more. The whole Senate begins to mark the iron faoe of Hill, as lie opeua cool ly and slowly with his hands clasp, d behind him. In this manner he speaks (on the great questions now Uf) for teu minutes without a gesture. His voice increases a little, and his fore auger comes forward to paint at the Senator from New York, or frm Maine, or at the smooth, hue head and form o! Edmunds, from VermoLt, whose great speech was given the da before. The Georgian soon has his plan open, and presses on to a review of the speeches of the three leading Republicans just named, and it is evi dent he ib in for a review of the whole of these, and the questions now up, aud the whole 1 the ate war. he advan ed he showed more more of the leal Southern man As and aud orator. I have alieady said in au other letter that be is a graduate of college, and be shows it in his clear cut, incisive words, never wanting in his thought, never misplaced, though his speech was extemporaneous and continued over three huura He was bold in his statements, well arranged with Lis books of reference bel'oie him; bold in gesture and voice, sometimes with one hand open toward the other side of the House, sometimes with both ex tended, and then striking the attitude ia which Henry Clay is pictured in making his farewell, with head aud boulders thrown back, his feet well advanced, and both bands reaching out aud downward iu calm grace and dig nity. 1 have seen Clay, but nfvyer heard hira except in conversation. But I have heard Tom Marshall, who was aid to be much like Clay in style and eloquence. I think Hill has studieo both and with emineut success. Ht baa no want of ideas, and marches fearlessly on to meet the armed foe shouting among the captains, like Job's war-horse. I have neard many "patches and must say, that as a speech, this of the great rebel, for dear statement, tire language, strong declaration, well sustained voice and argument, aud for research and ap parent candor, is one of the best I have ever heard, in the Senate or in the huntings or on the platform He ia the kind of a mau the South puta into the fore-ir&nt of all her bat tles, in field or Senate, aud the atten tion this speech challenged from friend or loe shows that they had not miscal cuiated their man. When will the North learn to put their educated, bold men into Congress ? for it will take thetfstrongest debaters we have, to meet and master such speakers as Ben Hill, of Georgia. I have only said what they all say that he is a very Ii.d x-Appeal. Remarkable C rcumstance A I Deaf Mite Regains His Voice- A oironmstaDce of a somewhat re markable character is reported to have occurred Snnday duriDg the baptising at the Basin. A mong the fif ty-fonr candidates who reoeived the ordinance st the hands of their pastor, Rev Henry Williama, Jr. was a' colored man named Barwell Lancasser, a deaf mute Bince infancy. When be wa. raised from the water after immersion, tooording to the testimony of those bo stood around him, he suddenly 'eoovtred his voice, and in clear and distinct tones, cried out: 'Thank God! Thank God!' To those who had never heard him speak a word, and who had e'er regarded him aa dumb these worda of thanks came with startling tffeot, and among many of the colored people taken in aonnection with the occasion, the circumstance is regarded a miracle. The occurrence created great deal of comment. What is fqually as remarkable is the fact that the oaaa, after uttering these words, returned again to his mute condition, and has bean unable since to say any thug further. Miscellaneous. Gents:-My daughter was taken on the 25th day of June, 1863, with wb.t was supposed to be Acute Fbeumatism, and was t eated for the same with no success. In 4. arch, follow ing, pieces of bone began to work out of the right arm, and continued to aprer.r till all the bone from tbe elbow to the shoulder j. int cime out. Many pieces of b ne came out of the right foot ano leg. The case was then pronounced one of White hwelling. Affe having been confined aoout six years to her bed, an the case c msidered hopeless, I was induced to try Dr. Pemberton's Compound E xtract of StiHi'-gia, and was so well satis fied with its effects that I have conti ued the use of it until the present. My daughter was confined t her bed about aizyeats before sue sat up or even turned over without he p.
