At 7:80 o'clock last evening the Ma
sonic Fraternity of this c'ty formed
proeession on Market street in front of
the Hall of St. John's Lodge, and, pre-
ceded by the Cornet Concert Club, march
ed down Market to Front, up Front to

The Hall was filled with a large audience
of ladies and gentlemen who paid marked
attention and manifested much interest in
the exercises.
The ceremobies for the evening were

after which an ode was sun by the Glee
Club. Fab. H. Busbee, Esq., of Ral
eigh, the speaker selected for the coca
ei on, was then Introduced to the assem
blage by Rev. Dr. Patterson.
The address of Mr. Busbee, as a matter
of course, pertained to themes of Masonic
interest and could be fully appreciated
only by the brethren of tbe 'mystio tie,'
yet his graceful, easy and pleasing man
ner and his impressive eloquence claim
ed and received the most profound atten
tion from his hearers.

Mission Home School are having a good
time of it at the Xmas Tree festival which
is given them to day at the Home. The
tree is a la rge and handsome one, well

and pretty and useful things for the
youthful expectants. It is the dy of
days for the scholars at that excellent
