Very busy men are president Prim rose and secretary Fries, of the State Exposition. Tho burden of correspon dence is becoming a heavy one, and many dozens of letters arc daily received from all parts ol tho country. These in the main ate inquiries as to all pos sible matters in connection with the exposition. So numerous are tho let ters that this week a stenographer and type-writer will be put at work to dis pose of them, and will beiused until the close of the exposition. . Tho main building will, as has been stated, have four court-yards in the in terior, one at each angle. These are each ICO feet G inches square. Two will be utilized, one for the display ot machinery other than saw mills, tho other for agricultural implements A little distance from the main building will stand the boiler-house. 40x00. A shed, 100x150 feet, will be erected at a little distance, tor the special display of saw mills. Great numbers of applications for special displays of machinery are being made. A lithographic press will be shown in operation. Lithographs of the main building are being prepared, giving a birds-eye view. showing their perspective, the arrange mentsoftbe court., ice. lhese will soon be upon posters and circulated in all parts of the State. An application has been received from Mrs. Frank Leslie for photographs of the building and also ot president Primrose, and these will soon be sent for publication in the -Illnstrated Weekly Knabe & Co.. of Baltimore, propose to make an claborala display cf pianos, the finest ever seen in the State. Space has been given the State sgri cultural department for its distinctive display. The southeast section of the building is thus given, containing 12. 4? feet of clear space. Ia this the superb collection of products, etc., of the Sate will be shown to great advan- tnce. It will be larzer than tne now famous collection shown at Boston Ail fh articles shown at Boston, as well a all the deoartment of aericul tare can gather from this time until the c ii .:t:n Ha shown in the most attractive style Commissioner McGehee and Secretary Wilson will spare no pains in their en deavors to make this part of the exposi tion a miracle of completeness. j . At CVntral, he switched on from his rain, nought a secluded spot and turn ed th3 bottle of laudanum to his lips, absorbed its contents and lay down to die. Durham Plant: On the evening of the Uth of April fire was discovered in the roof of Air. Lurico Nichols, resi dence, five mil9 from Durham, on the Hillsboro and Fish Dam road. It was so'iu evident that there was no chance to sive tbe house and every energy was bent in moving the furniture. All tbe furniture in the lower part of the main building was saved, but that in the cxk room and dining room was losl. Just one week from the fire our friend moved into a new four room two story house which had been built by his neighbors. It is iudeed pleasant for n man to know ho in surrounded by such neighbors.
