that Mr. Pembroke J: Hoimes,' son
of Mr. JohuL. Holmes, formerly a
well-known lawyer in this city,! was
dead.v The deceased was about 27
years of age and the cause of death

trated. Pembroke J. Holmes was a
young man of exceptionally j line
