The Germania Cornet Band had a truly delightful time of it on their excursion yesterday to Carolina Beach. On the return trip resolu tions expressive of the sense ef the excursionists in regard to the pleas ures of the day aiid especially thank ing Capt. Harper for his courtesy and attention were adopted without a dissenting voice.- At the request of the excursionists the return from the Beach was delayed half an hour beyond the usual time On the Deep Blue Sea. . The steam yacht Tarpon is adding a fair share to the enjoyment of those who visit the Hammocks. She was specially chartered yesterday morning by a party of fifteen for a run outside, and during the after noon she took a party of .52 Anson- ians well out to sea, some eight or ten miles out, and well on to blue Avater, a nuuioer oi tne party paiu the usual tribute to Neptune ana others again were qualmish but would not own up. They all got back safe and sound and loud in praise of the gallant little yacht and her courteous commander, Captain Leta Potter. The Encampment. The tents are now all pitched and but little more remains to be done at the camp for the proper recep tion and comfort of the State Guard. The first troop train will come in at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday next, the 17th. This will be on the W. & W. R. R. and it will bring the companies from Washington, Scotland Neck and Rocky Mount.. A special; consisting of 17 coaches, will arrive over the C. C. R. R. about 5 o'clock, conveying the companies contiguous to that road and the C. F. & Y. V. R. R. and those from the Northeast section of the State will arrive on the 7:40 p. m. train on the W. & W. R. R. These trains will all be switched to the track of the Seacoast R. R. and will proceed direct to Wrightsville where the troops will debark and proceed direct to camp. - Adjutant General Jones will prob" ably arrive here to-night and wil remain in the city until the morning of the 17th, where he will proceed to Wrightsville and establish head quarters there. Cardinal appeared at the gate of the depot and proceeded through-the double. line which was formed, he was saluted with canes and the band struck up "Hail to the Chief," which was continued until he entered his carriage, accompan ied by the newly appointed Bishop, Leo Haid, and - Fathers Dumont, Fjelix, Gross and Burnes.
