If so, road the following, from the Herald, and it will tell you : The result of the charter elec tion in Newark on Tuesday "points a moral and adorns a tale" when compared with that of October, 1884. The test vote of party strength was then, as it is now, on Trustee of City Home. The same candidates, Messrs., Peddie, Republican, and Richmond, Democrat, were before the people. The vote of 1884 was: Peddie. 13,511; Richmond, 11,392; Republican .majority 2,119. This year the vote stood: Richmond 14.- 55G; Peddie, 13,851; Democratic ma jority,. 705. The cry of "protection" was in full vigor in 1884, and Blaine carried the city by G87. The Fifth and Twelfth wards of Newark comprise what is known as the 'H-onbound district," on ac connt'of the large number'of factor ies therein that work in that metal Memorial ' Services. We are informed that the Order of Odd Fellows - will have Memorial services on the 25th of this month. and it is rumored that Grand Mas ter Cordon, of Wilson, will be pres ent and deliver an oration.
