Good reports are com ing in with regard to the sorghum crop, which is larger than in any year since the war. The frost hurt this crop in only a few extreme western counties. The location of the point of connection of the Cape Fear & Yadkin Valley Railway and the Norfolk & Southern R. R. has been, we understand, definitely fixed by the engineer corps of the two roads, at a distance of some thing less than nine miles beyond the present terminus of the C. F. & Y. V. R. R. At the reunion of the Sixth North Carolina Infantry at Durham-the flag which was borne by the regiment was displayed, torn by bullets. It is said that it is the only flag ever planted within the cemetery at Gettysburg. It was specially carried in the storming of the ridge there, and was planted among the Federal batteries in the cemetery. The commander of the regiment on that day was Colonel Samuel McDowell Tate, who was present at the reunion. The regi ment has formed a survivors' asso ciation, with Col. R. F.
