some sell this morning at 20 cents a
dozen, but the standard price is

The annual meeting of the stock
holders of the Wilmington Gas
Light Company will be held in the
company's office in this city, on next
Tuesday evening, at 4 o'clock.
Those who are in need of a good
cow and appreciate the value of
good milk will do well to call and
examine the stock of Mr. J. E. Black,

Mr. John. F. Garrell had on the

city cows, stall-fed and what might
be called "fearfully fat." One weigh
ed 1,200 pounds and the other 1,600.
By the way, it is the general sen
tiuient of the business community
that the center of Market street, in
the midst of the business quarter, is
not exactly the place for a pleasure
plat. Along op about Fourth or
Fifth, on the same street, would be
a better location.

Thrown Out and Injured.
We regret to learn that our good
friend, J. W. S. Robinson, Esq., of
the Upper Black River section, was
seriously hurt a few days ago. He
was driving iu his buggy when the
horse ran away and Mr. Robinson
was thrown out. He became en
tangled in the lines and wasdragged
a considerable distance. Dr. C. S.
Kerr attended him and found that
although he had a number of bad
bruises he was not dangerously hurt.

A meeting of the Ladies Memorial
Association was held yesterday af
ternoon to perfect some of the ar
rangements for Memorial Day. A
propositon was submitted that Gen.
Cox's address be delivered in the
