The steamship Pioneer is a total wreck. Information to this effect was received here last night by Mr. H. G. Smallbones, Superintendent of the New York & Wilmington Steamship Co. at this port. The cargo is also a total loss. The vessel was insured for $50,000. The value of the cargo, which was owned principally by parties in this cjty, is unknown, as also the amount of in surance on it. Daily Throagh Freight on C. C K. K. We learn that it is in contempla- tion by the Carolina Central Rail road authorities to put on at an early day a daily local freight train leaving Wilmington and Charlotte each morning and reaching their respective destinations, Charlotte and Wilmington, the same day.
