Co. t There was another large exodus for Fayetteville on this morning's early train on the Carolina Central Railroad. Thanksgiving tarkeys begin to arrive in considerable quantities. The trial was in every way satisfactory. Death of a Good Woman. Mrs. J. W. Bordeaux, who lived about three miles from Burgaw, Pender county, died at 7 o'clock on the evening of the 20th inst., aged about GO years. She had been sick with consumption about a year, and was a most estimable lady. Her hus band, five children and nineteen grand children survive her. She was a member of Herring's Chapel M. E. Church and had been a con" sistent professing Christian woman for more than a quarter of a cen tnrv. I'ersonal. We had the pleasure of a visit this afternoon from Mr. Joe E.Corl, advertising agent of 4'Andress' New Colossal Shows,'' which will put in an appearance here on the 39th inst. We found Mr. Corl a very pleasant gentleman, and from all the ac counts we have heard thus far, hp represents an excellent show, which, while it does not pretend to the gilt-edged gorge Dusness of some of the more pretentions companies which visit us, has every real at traction of any organization that travels. . Stoim at Burgaw. Mr. J. T. Collins, of Burgaw, gave us the pleasure of a call to day and informed us that the heaviest storm of wind and rain he ever witnessed visited that town this morning. The gale lasted about an hour and In that time it destroyed much fenc ing, blew down several shanties oc cupied by colored people and drove in the windows of Mr. J. F. Moore's store,drowniug out the interior of the building by the deluge of rain and causing serious damage to the stock of goods. The wind was almost a hurricane in magnitude and force A L,ucky Couple. Work on the warehouse at this place commenced on the 18th inst., uuder the supervision of Capt. John Hanby, who has a force of 12 exper ienced workmen. When it is fin ished it will be a handsome and co-iimodious building. It will not be many years ere Wallace will be one of the most flourishing villages on the line of the Wilmington and Weldon Railroad. The young people of the village, aided by some of the old folks, will give an entertainment and concert some time during the coming holi days. We will assure all those from a distance that will honor us with their presence on that occasion they will be will be highly pleased. There will be an oyster supper given after the entertainment is over The net proceeds will be given to the Oxford Orphan Asylum to make some little orphan feel good on New Year's day. Postal Matters.
